We are excited to announce the opening of our new Dallas Retail Showroom expected to open early next year in the Knox District and we are currently hiring for roles that will begin in February 2018.


In this uniquely blended role of Visual Merchandising & Sales Associate, your primary focus (50% of your time) will be creating a showroom environment that is consistent with Room & Board's design point of view, as well as representative of the architecture of the building and the lifestyles of our Dallas customers. The other 50%, you will work in a customer-facing, non-commissioned sales role where you bring your creativity and love for home and fashion, good design and beautiful details to inspire customers and help them create the home they love.


You are a student of the world around you and you understand how a home evolves based on life changes, technology, sustainability and other social influences. Your design savvy is blended with business confidence as you work design teams at our Central Office, helping them understand local trends, competition and meaningful design shifts that influence future development of our product lines.


You are a mentor and educator, engaging our design associates in showroom presentation to further develop design confidence. You’re flexible and collaborative as you partner with the team to build excitement and inspire others.


You take pride in providing professional, relationship-based sales experiences to customers. You look to earn trust and problem solve in a solution-based, design-focused sales environment.

  • 5+ years of related visual or merchandising experience. You have an eye for detail, not perfection.
  • Effective communication skills. You bring professional, consistent and timely communication to ensure that you create the best experiences for our customers, and the team.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. You have a game plan that is aligned to sales and the broader business, but are also agile as you balance routine responsibilities with customer and business needs. You bring an aptitude for good time management and process execution.
  • Available to work a combination of days, nights and weekends. You’ll find work/life balance in the way we schedule. You will work 40 hours/week and our store hours don’t extend much past 7PM.


The safety and wellbeing of our staff members is paramount. We recognize this role requires physical stamina and therefore requires final candidates to complete a pre-employment physical.
