Web Quality Assurance / QA Analyst

Job ID
US-MN-Golden Valley
Central Office - Information Technology

Love What You Do.

When you join the web development team as a Quality Assurance Analyst at Room & Board, you’ll quickly discover a few unique aspects about the role:

  • Your span/scope is broader than what you might typically expect. As a key resource in the software development process (lightweight Agile development), you’ll be more hands on and influence how we do our work as you work closely with the developers and BAs (a team of 15±) and advocate what needs to be done from a quality assurance standpoint.
  • You’ll work with some of the latest technologies. Web-based applications, automation, JIRA, qTest Manager and Bamboo to name a few. Proof that we believe in investing in the right tools and technologies. And, you’ll find the infrastructure rock solid, too.
  • Your passion for high quality work is valued. You focus on doing quality work and you’re passionate about making a difference. You’ll join a peer group of 3 QA analysts and will be surrounded by talented technology professionals who are equally passionate about their work.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to learn/expand your skills. Although our organization is fairly flat, you’re given a fair amount of latitude within your role and will be encouraged to bring new ideas forward. You will learn as you adapt to working with current and future tools and technologies.

Our Physical Work Environment

As a QA Analyst, you'll:

  • Set the priority for the testing on your assigned projects as you prepare test data, develop and execute thorough test plans, perform functional and regression testing, test requirements for completeness, and manage testing environments.
  • Run and maintain test automation scripts for use in regression testing.
  • Track defects using a defect-tracking system, experience with JIRA a plus.
  • Perform database testing using SQL.
  • Participate in sprint planning to  find logic errors early in the development cycle.
  • Perform analysis of post-production issues to determine if a defect exists.
  • Design and document the quality assurance process.

USD $80,000.00

The qualifications & experience you’ll bring:

  • 5 years of quality assurance analysis experience with at least 1 year within an Agile web development environment.
  • Experience with Selenium and Cucumber or other test automation framework in an Agile development environment is considered a plus.
  • Candidates will need to possess authorization to work in the United States, as it is not the practice of Room & Board to sponsor individuals for work Visas.

What you'll find:

  • Our collaborative spirit leaves little room for bureaucracy and cumbersome rules. Instead we keep it simple, take accountability, solve problems and ultimately do the right thing.
  • Our compensation, benefits and work space are designed to support the physical, financial and emotional well-being of our staff and their families, including domestic partnerships. THe compensation listed above is the minimum starting point and is commesurate based on experience and qualifications.
