We are looking for a retail store-level manager to join our leadership team in our Seattle showroom. As a Retail Leadership Associate with Room & Board, you'll contribute in guiding and leading the team in a way that creates an exceptional experience for our customers. You accomplish this through leading, mentoring and developing a team of high-performing design/sales professionals who are empowered and confident in their ability to provide design solutions to our customers.

Location:2675 NE University Village St, Seattle, WA 98105

 

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday.

Our showroom hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm; Sunday 11am-6pm.

 

As a retail store leader, you'll share your talents in the following ways: assistant retail store manager

 

You'll join a 3-person leadership team who leads and inspires a team of 20± design/sales (non-commissioned environment), visual merchandising and inventory associates in our beautiful 28,000 sq. ft. showroom featuring a balance of inspirational room settings, departments, home décor and a full-service design center. 

 

Our Retail Leadership Associates understand how their customers live and shop. You'll leverage Room & Board's assortment to maximize the selling floor and therefore meet customer needs. You are passionate about Room & Board's design aesthetic and weave their understanding into the showroom experience. You'll also create meaningful store events that provide opportunities to deepen connections with existing customers as well as reach new customers.

 

Our Retail Leadership Associates are involved in the development of a strategic business plan that adjusts to the changing needs of their market. You play a role in the planning process, forecasting market sales, location headcount and salary plans, and all controllable expenses.

 

The experiences you’ll draw from and the qualifications you’ll bring: assistant retail store manager

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a customer-centric retail sales environment with demonstrated success leading high performing teams. Historically, our most successful and happy Retail Leadership Associates have left the demanding pace and long hours of a store manager or multi-unit role and found this opportunity provides depth and breadth in the leadership role, greater autonomy and a retail culture that is designed to be different.
  • A demonstrated confidence and high standards when it comes to detail and organization and a belief that your success is tied directly to the selection, growth and continued development of the team you lead and how you treat others.
  • A passion for working on the sales floor and engaging with customers.
  • A communication style that inspires, informs, sets clear expectations, provides timely and specific feedback and facilitates meaningful ways to recognize staff members.
  • Be a champion for the company and build trust with the team through transparent communication, explaining the whys behind the decisions that we make and the benefits of those decisions.
  • Be an advocate for your business by building collaborative relationships with partners outside your four walls and educating them about your market.

  • Salary: $78,000.00 - $85,000.00 / yr. (depending on skills/qualifications)
