As a full-time Retail Sales Associate / Merchandising Associate at Room & Board's Outlet, you will be part of a 6-person team. Together, you'll handle weekly semi-trailer loads of American-made furniture and home furnishings, transforming our 11,000 sq. ft. Outlet into a highly admired shopping destination for our loyal brand enthusiasts.

Location: 2525 West 22nd Street, Oak Brook, IL 60523
Schedule:
Work Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays (10:30am–7:00pm) and Sundays (9:30am–6:00pm)
Days Off: Wednesdays & Saturdays
What you’ll be responsible for as a Retail Sales Associate/Merchandising Associate:
Re
Receiving & Inventory Management:
- Safely offload two semi-trailer loads weekly using proper equipment to minimize damage and injuries.
- Verify shipments for accuracy within SAP and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Provide feedback to distribution partners on load safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and collaborate with peers to research and resolve discrepancies.
- Proactively manage product levels and replenishment to maximize sales and margin
Merchandising & Showroom Presentation
- Relocate, stage, and merchandise products to create an inspiring and shoppable showroom environment.
- Balance visual presentation with maximizing floor space for optimum sales.
- Finalize daily showroom readiness, including tagging, product details, cleaning, and organization.
- Assist in strategic product pricing to maintain margin goals.
- Maintain consistent standards of cleanliness and organization in both the sales floor and back room.
Customer Engagement & Sales
- Engage with customers to support their shopping experience and represent our brand with authenticity and care.
- Process sales within SAP with accuracy and efficiency.
- Share product knowledge and guide peers to strengthen team expertise.

The qualifications you’ll bring as a Retail Sales Associate/Merchandising Associate: Retail Sales Associate / Merchandising Associate
- 3+ years experience in roles involving related skills and responsibilities
- An understanding of the importance of safe working habits as you ensure the safe, accurate and efficient handling of our furniture.
- Ability to lift 75-100 pounds independently throughout the day.
- Ability to pass a physical abilities test related to the role.
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Ability to provide proof of identity and legal work authorization upon hire
What we offer Retail Sales Associates / Merchandising Associates:
- Salary: $53,000 - $58,000 / year ($25.48 - $27.88/ hour)
